Description
This Trekking takes us into the wonderful mountain scenery of Picos de Europa National Park. This tour explores the Picos de Europa National Park with walks in the wild landscapes of the western, central and eastern massifs.
It is an Eco destination- one of the first National Parks in Europe. As such, no mass tourism or infrastructure is related to that. Instead, you have a genuine natural environment where wild nature & man lives harmoniously in balance with each other.
It’s not just difficult to find words to describe the landscape in the Picos de Europa National Park; it’s almost impossible! Everything in this setting in northern Spain is spectacular: the rocky crests, the gorges, the valleys, the vast glacial lakes, the leafy forests… and the best way to get to know them is on foot. You can rest assured that you’ll be amazed at everything you see on this tour.
Little villages populate the valleys, with some also higher up & dotted throughout the three “massifs”, giving this area that lovely authentic experience of rural living where local culture & gastronomy are still preserved.
This tour gives you all of that; the walking is one part of it, the cultural & environmental experiences are the others.
TRANSPORTATION & LUGGAGE
We move in a van (9 places), ideal for getting around the mountain roads familiarly and flexibly. We recommend bringing one main piece of baggage and a daypack, better than a rigid suitcase because we have limited space in the vehicle

Getting to know this route is a unique experience. The trail is narrow, surrounded by wild vegetation, with water ever-present. The river flows along the valley floor; its sound is a constant companion en route. Now and again, the path takes you through small tunnels carved out of the rock and across bridges that hang over the abyss. Meanwhile, rocky mountainsides tower up on either side of the trail. The itinerary runs between Poncebos, in Asturias province and Cain, in Leon province, and It runs parallel to the Cares, the area’s wildest river. The route covers 12 kilometres over easy terrain. Transfer to Espinama. We will do a stop-off in the town of Potes. Dinner and accommodation in Espinama.

Las Peñas de Bejes
Breakfast. To end this beautiful trip, we will visit the Eastern Massif, perhaps the most unknown to the public, but also of great beauty. Next, we move to the town of Bejes to take a fantastic walk around the surroundings of this beautiful town. We will go up to Pico Cueto Cunorio, an authentic viewpoint of the Picos de Europa and the Hermida gorge, where we will find an orientation table with the names of the prominent peaks. At the end of the route, we will taste the delicious Bejes-Tresviso cheese. Farewell lunch and after lunch transfer to Cangas de Onís to end our expedition.
